Successful firms create distinctiveness through ideas and style, using image and positioning to influence their audiences; and they use their business and social networks to open doors of opportunity.

Websites continue to be important as the virtual storefront for a compendium of information about our firms and our work. However, when it comes to marketing and public relations, every story, image, brand, and relationship plays itself out across a limitless number of media platforms. Although decisions about brand strategy are made in corporate boardrooms, brand messages are shaped all around the world, in any place with internet access. Realistically, there is the potential for anyone to be talking about your firm and influencing perception about your brand.

With the increasing number of opportunities presented by new social media technology, how can you create a context for your brand message that speaks to your target audiences, making your stories not just interesting, but important. In addition, since ?command and control? no longer works as a strategy in the world of guerilla commentary, how can your firm coordinate a multitude of voices, helping those within your organization to stay on message, and giving external advocates stories worth repeating.

This one-day program will explore opportunities to use enhanced marketing strategies to reach targeted audiences, build influence, and shape perception. The course is intended for firm leaders (in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, and interior design) who are concerned about marketing and public relations strategy, business development, and competitive advantage.

We will use case studies and pin-up presentations to review and discuss the participants? current marketing and social media programs. Participants are asked to bring examples from their own firms? marketing and social media programs for presentation and discussion. Building on that work, we will use discussions to explore opportunities that would enhance brand messaging and social media outreach.

I know you?ve heard the saying that you are what you eat. We all talk about what we should be eating and what we shouldn?t be eating, but how seriously do we really take our nutrition? Do we really believe that food can promote or get in the way of good health? Here?s the cold hard truth: you are what you eat and you must be an advocate of your own health care and diet.

Let me tell you a short story about how my best friend learned this truth. She is about 5?2? and 110 pounds. I thought she ate a healthy diet by any standards. She worked out at one of the best gyms in her area on most days, incorporating strength training, cardio, and yoga. (Actually, she does the yoga at home. She?s an avid fan of Chalene?s Stretch 40 from the Turbofire program.) Anyway, you could have easily mistaken for a Personal Trainer. Her dedication to staying health and fitness was incredible.

She went to the doctor for an annual physical exam and was diagnosed with high cholesterol. She was somewhat perplexed since it didn?t run in her family, she didn?t eat junk like fast food, she was in good physical condition and certainly not overweight. Ok, now for the really shocking part of this story. Rather than talk to her about her diet, lifestyle or other factors that might be contributing to the problem, she received a prescription for a popular cholesterol-lowering drug. She was to take the medication daily?probably for the rest of her life.

Whoa! Back up! What happened to all that talk we are what we eat? Even though diet is so important to our health, our health care system often does not address diet. I implore you to be an advocate of your own health care and diet. Learn about nutrition and how to fuel your body.

I?m not suggesting that diet alone could remedy my friend?s high cholesterol. What she did learn is she wanted more from her health care than a prescription for medication. Some of the people in Beachbody?s test group lowered their cholesterol numbers with Shakeology which is a whole foods natural health drink. So, maybe it is true that you are what you eat?or at least you?re affected somewhat by what you eat.

I'm new to this site. Figured I would post a hello since there was a section dedicated to it. I hope to get to up to speed on what goes around here fast. I'm not a veteran or anything at roleplaying but I do have experience. Any tips or tricks would be gladly welcomed as I think I have much to learn. You will probably see me roleplaying as characters that are a bit out of the norm (depending on the roleplay and rules of course). It's hard to accomplish that with Google Adwords. You only have three lines and a few words to build interest and trust and to get the click. It's also hard to achieve that with ezine ads. Even with solo ezine ads, everyone knows they are advertisements.

Article submission is the secret. Writing and submitting articles is relatively easy. Just write very helpful articles on your topic and link to your website. Through article submission you will build your reputation. You will gain the trust of your readers. And through article submission you will get visitors to your web site that already like you, value your advice, and want to know more about what you can do to help them.

That's already an incredible benefit, but it gets even better. Article submission is usually free. Ezine ads and Google Adwords can be very expensive, and it is unlikely you could ever get traffic coming to your site as open to listening to you and trusting you as they will be from writing and submitting articles.
